What to expect
SAGE Counselling is situated in Woodside, in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. There is ample street parking. The counselling room is a comfortable, welcoming and non-clinical space for counselling.
The first counselling session may include information about what to expect in counselling; informed consent; your expectations as a client and introducing your reason for coming.
Individual Counselling
Many of us have experienced normal life stressors associated with change including; job loss; injury; financial strain; loneliness; relationship difficulties; separation and/or divorce; parenting struggles; loss and grief; and personal crisis.
Sometimes there are challenges with our wellbeing and mental health that can accompany these situations, such as trauma; anxiety; and depression. Making the decision to get counselling support can be hard and might feel like there is some stigma attached to getting help. However, accessing counselling can suggest that a person is being proactive in seeking assistance to work things through and develop fresh approaches.
Some clients have clinical practitioners for mental health conditions. Supportive counselling complements medication and clinical treatments.

Relationships
Making the decision to have relationship counselling is not an easy one but many people find the experience helpful, fair, and often quite practical. It is helpful to have support in strengthening a relationship, and it is quite common for people to seek relationship support in areas such as improving communication, finances, intimacy, managing conflict, stepfamilies and looking ahead together.
SAGE Counselling can help people at any stage in the relationship, including those who are separating and/or divorcing. Counselling can provide support for those wishing to maintain an amicable relationship with their partner where possible, or who wish to explore their new life after a separation. This can sometimes include the careful negotiation of property settlement, or connections with family, friends, and children.
